Earnings Whisper Calendar — Expected Move & Reaction History
There is no official whisper number. What actually decides whether a print is tradeable is the expected move — how far the stock has historically travelled on the session that digests the report — measured against where it sits technically going in. Every figure below is recomputed from live prices and the last eight reported quarters each time this page loads.

The ATLAS column is the bot's live cash-desk book, refreshed from the public bot track record. "Flat" means it holds no position into that report.

How to trade around a print
- • Compare the expected move to your stop distance. If the average reaction is wider, your stop will not hold — the gap prices straight through it.
- • Reactions cluster: a name that has gapped 8% on each of its last four reports is unlikely to sit still on the fifth. The reaction tables below show that pattern directly.
- • The direction of the reaction is not the direction of the surprise. Beats sell off on guidance all the time, which is why we publish realised moves rather than EPS surprises alone.
- • Size off risk, not conviction. The position size calculator turns a stop distance and an account risk percentage into a share count.
Earnings FAQ
What is an earnings whisper number?
The whisper number is the unofficial result traders actually expect, as opposed to the published analyst consensus. It is not a figure anyone reports officially, so the practical version is the expected move: how far options and prior reactions say the stock can travel on the print. This page uses the realised reaction history to build that estimate.
How is the expected move on this page calculated?
It is the average absolute one-session move across the last eight reported quarters, measured from the close before the reaction session to the close of the reaction session. Reports released before the open are measured on the same day; reports released after the close are measured on the next session. It is a history-implied estimate, not an options-implied straddle price.
Should I hold a position through earnings?
Holding through a print roughly doubles your effective risk because the gap can jump straight past your stop. If the average reaction is larger than the distance to your stop, the honest options are to cut size, close before the report, or accept that the stop is not protecting you.
Does SIGNAL9 trade earnings?
SIGNAL9 does not run an earnings-gambling strategy. The signals published on this site are technical and news-driven setups with a defined entry, stop and target, and every trade the ATLAS bot takes is logged publicly on the bot track record — including anything held over a report.
Where do the earnings dates come from?
Scheduled and confirmed report dates come from a public earnings calendar feed and are refreshed on every page load, with price and reaction data recomputed from daily closes. Companies sometimes move dates, so confirm with the issuer's investor-relations page before trading the event.
Run a full scan before the print
The verdicts above are the deterministic technical read. For an entry, stop and target with the news and macro layer attached, run the ticker through the terminal.
Educational information only, not investment advice. Earnings dates are scheduled estimates until confirmed by the company.
